Moors Valley Country Park

I’ve written about Moors Valley several times before (here & here). It’s one of my all-time favourite places. I used to go all the time when I was little and I intend to keep going often as Huxley gets older. This week he’s started climbing on things so we thought it would be the perfect place for him to climb to his heart’s content!

But not before a quick stop at the skate park first! Huxley was desperate to have a go on Nick’s skate board so Nick stood him on it and had a little whizz around. Huxley loved it and had the biggest grin on his face! Then he had a go on his scooter. He has no fear! Nick held his arm the first time going down the ramp but on the second go he wanted to do it all by himself. Nick finishes his food judging this week so he’ll be at home all the time again now so we’re going to try and take Hux to the skate park at least once a week.

We had to rush out and buy Huxley some new jeans on Saturday as he’s had a massive growth spurt recently and has grown out of everything. Nick loves these grey ones and keeps saying he wants some to match! He desperately needs some new pyjamas too so I’ve been browsing Couporando.co.uk* to try and find some for him – I’m a little obsessed with these Boden ones!

There’s a little play park at Potterne so we had to stop for Hux to have a quick go on the slide before we could start walking to see the ducks and get to Moors Valley.

It was freezing when we left Verwood but luckily as we got nearer to Moors Valley it warmed up and the sun came out (which we totally weren’t prepared for outfit-wise or suncream-wise but yay sun!)

Huxley loved watching the little steam train and waving at all the children going past.

We made another quick pit-stop at the play park before moving on to the play trail. If you haven’t heard of Moors Valley before it’s basically a big play park made from wood hidden around the forest. It’s amazing. And free (if you walk from Verwood – hooray!). Even if you drive the car park is only £9 for a day which I used to think was expensive but now think is pretty reasonable.

After Open Farm Sunday last weekend Huxley is obsessed with tractors so when I spotted this one in the gift shop I knew I had to get it for him!
